Extreme Rules Results

Despite repeated attempts to escape the confines of their Steel Cage Match, Chris Jericho could not avoid Edge’s determined onslaught and fell victim to a hard-hitting Spear from The Rated-R Superstar.

In a Steel Cage Match, victory can only be achieved through pinfall, submission, or by escaping the cage. At the start of the night, Edge flatly stated that his game plan did not include leaving the cage.

Early in the match, Jericho had the chance to walk out of the cage door while Edge was down, but instead he turned and reentered the cage to go after The Rated-R Superstar. The decision proved to be a huge mistake for Jericho.

Similarly, Edge had a chance to climb out of the cage, but instead chose to remain to inflict more punishment on his rival. Despite Jericho’s pleas for mercy, Edge reveled in dishing out repeated pain and suffering. Then, just when it looked like Jericho could take no more, The Ultimate Opportunist put him out of his misery with a brutal Spear.

Smackdown! Results – 04/23/10

Edge and Chris Jericho confronted each other before Extreme Rules
Standing inside a steel cage, Chris Jericho described the ways he will use the dreaded structure to end Edge’s career at Extreme Rules. Despite The Rated-R Superstar’s obviously injured ankle, he emerged with resolve and soon went on the extreme offensive. Although his decorated pay-per-view opponent was able to escape Edge’s onslaught, he left his WWE NXT Rookie Wade Barrett locked inside the cage to take the full force of the enraged Ultimate Opportunist’s Spear.

Who will emerge from the cage with a definitive victory at Extreme Rules?

Raw Results – 04/19/10

Rey Mysterio, Edge & Triple H def. CM Punk, Chris Jericho & Luke Gallows
Just six days until Extreme Rules, a battalion of the pay-per-view’s competitors converged in a Six-Man Tag Team Match pitting Rey Mysterio, Edge & Triple H against CM Punk, Chris Jericho & Luke Gallows. In the run-up to the highly anticipated Steel Cage Match, Edge faced down his former partner Jericho, who punished his rival by crushing his ankle. Punk also sent Mysterio a message in the lead up to their Extreme Rules contest.

The match’s conclusion, however, seemed fitting since it was Raw Superstar Triple H who led his team to victory by pinning SmackDown’s Straight Edge spiritual guide, CM Punk.

Smackdown Takes Over Raw Tonight! – 04/19/10

With the volcanic eruption in Europe stranding the majority of the Raw roster, WWE’s flagship show is going blue. Even as the cast of the film MacGruber takes the reins as special guest hosts for the potentially cataclysmic show in East Rutherford, N.J., Triple H prepares to share the ring with several top SmackDown Superstars.

Although Raw is trapped in Belfast, Ireland, the SmackDown Superstars were able to arrive in Newark by charter early this morning, after traveling through the night by bus to get to a place where they could take off.

Can the cast of MacGruber control the molten-hot situation that could erupt on Raw? Find out tonight at 9/ 8 CT only on USA Network.

I think it’s pretty safe to say that we will be seeing Edge tonight on Raw!

Zurich, Switzerland Houseshow Results – April 16, 2010

World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger beat Chris Jericho and Edge to retain the WH Title. Good reaction for all three wrestlers. Jericho insulted the Swiss crowd and told them to not chant “spear.” Edge took the mic and said he’s going to spear both of them. Typical triple threat match with the heels teaming up to work on Edge with Edge making a comeback. Funny moments were Jericho hugging Swagger and slapping him on the backside, then grabbing the referee’s leg because he didn’t want to get speared. The finish saw Jericho hitting Edge with a chair, then he tried to do it again, but Swagger threw him out of the ring and stole the pin for the three count. After the match, Edge hit both of them with a spear.

There is no doubt that The Rated-R Superstar isn’t feeling too happy about his loss on SmackDown, but he will be back looking to take out both Chris Jericho and Jack Swagger sooner than later.
