Edge and Zack Ryder backstage. Ryder says he and Edge can be friends again, hang out in the clubs and stuff. Edge says they are not friends and he does not want to hang with Ryder. Edge says he should be WWE Champion right now. Edge says he is screwed. Daniel Bryan walks in and asks them to keep it down a little bit, he’s trying to read or something as he has a book in his hand. Edge says Bryan lucked his way into the WWE US Title and now he thinks he can tell people what to do. Ryder tells Bryan to “read this” and puts an L on his forehead. Edge says he wants to hurt someone tonight and he’s picking Bryan for that. Edge challenges Bryan to a match and Bryan accepts. Bryan walks off and Ryder does the L on his forehead. Edge points out that Ryder’s L is backwards.

Edge vs. Daniel Bryan

Back from commercial and The Miz is staying at ringside for commentary. Out first for the next match is Edge. Next to the ring is the new WWE United States Champion, Daniel Bryan, for this non-title match. Daniel Bryan comes out to something like his old pre-WWE theme music. Miz and Cole talk a lot of trash about Bryan as he enters the ring and shows off the title. The bell rings and Edge attacks, beating Bryan down in the corner.

Edge continues the assault on Bryan. Edge dumps Bryan out on the floor and the referee starts to count. Edge brings it back in the ring and poses before stomping on Bryan’s head. Bryan fights back with kicks to Edge. Edge drops Bryan again for a 2 count. Bryan fights out of a submission but Edge hits him with a right. Edge runs the ropes and Bryan hits him with a knee to the gut. Bryan flips off the top rope and clothesliens Edge. Bryan goes for the LaBell Lock but Edge counters it. More back and forth until Bryan takes Edge down with a high knee. 2 count.

Bryan leaps off the top rope but Edge kicks him in mid-air. Edge goes for a spear but Bryan catches him with a LaBell Lock attempt. Alex Riley runs down and hops on the apron to distract the referee. Miz comes from behind and drops Bryan’s back over the ropes. Edge gets up and spears Bryan for the pin and the win.

After the match, the e-mail alert goes off and we have a message from the General Manager. Cole says that due to outside interference by The Miz, the referee’s decision is reversed and the winner of the match via DQ is Daniel Bryan.

Winner via DQ: Daniel Bryan

- Edge is pissed after the announcement. Edge takes a mic and says he is sick of the General Manager and his gimmicks at ringside. Edge says this is not a joke, it’s his career. Edge throws down the mic and walks off, frustrated.

Night of Champions Results

Backstage with Edge and Todd Grisham. Grisham asks how he plans on winning. Edge says he will rise to the occasion and on night like this, he shocks people. Edge says he will walk out the new WWE Champion tonight.

Six Pack Challenge Elimination for the WWE Title: Randy Orton vs. Edge vs. Chris Jericho vs. John Cena vs. Wade Barrett vs. Sheamus

We go to the ring and out first comes the WWE Champion Sheamus. Out next is John Cena and he definitely gets a mied reaction from the crowd. Lots of boo’s as Cena heads to the ring. Edge is out next to a big pop from the crowd, bigger than Cena. Chris Jericho comes out next, also to a decent reaction. Out next is Wade Barrett to the lowest reaction of the night. And finally, Randy Orton comes out to the biggest pop of the match. They do formal introductions and here we go.

The bell rings, and it’s mayhem as things break down and everyone is just brawling. Please bear with me as this one will be difficult to call. Jericho and Orton are left as the only men in the ring and Jericho pounds on Orton. It doesn’t last long though as Cena comes in and he and Jericho stare each other down before trading blows. Jericho pounds on Cena in the corner, but he eats a bulldog in return. Jericho gets an RKO from Orton and Orton pins Jericho for the three. WOW!

Chris Jericho has been eliminated.

The whole match stops as Jericho is eliminated. Jericho is stunned. He takes his time heading to the back, looking shocked and upset. The other Superstars just stare at Jericho as he walks to the back. The match starts again and the RAW stars have Wade Barrett surrounded.

Everyone but Orton jumps Barrett, and even he eventually joins in before Barrett is clotheslined over the top rope by Sheamus and Edge. Orton and Cena toss Edge and Sheamus to the outside and we get an Orton/Cena tease, but Barrett breaks it up. Everyone is back in the ring and Barrett tries to order Sheamus and Edge around, but to no avail. Edge and Sheamus team up on Barrett instead, taking him down with a double shoulder block. Again we’re left with Cena and Orton alone in the ring.

Orton goes for the RKO but Cena blocks. Cena goes for the STF but Orton blocks. Orton tries for the rope assisted DDT but he can’t get it, Cena tries for the AA but can’t get it. Orton and Edge even try to double suplex Cena to the outside but they can’t get it done as Barrett pulls them to the outside. Sheamus focuses on Cena in the ring, hitting him with a clubbing blow across the chest before he goes to the outside and focuses on everyone else all at the same time. Sheamus throws Orton into the barricade at ringside before turning back to Cena in the ring.

Sheamus hits a high knee to Cena taking him down to the mat yet again. Sheamus tries for a short arm clothesline, but Cena responds with a series of right hands, only to walk into a high elbow from Sheamus. Sheamus pounds on Cena in the corner and sits Cena on the top turnbuckle facing away from the ring. Sheamus tries for the high cross, but Cena fights it off. Sheamus goes for a super belly to back suplex, but Cena fights that off too. Cena goes for the high leg drop, but Edge pulls him off the top rope. Edge and Sheamus place Cena on the top turnbuckle and go for a double superplex, taking Cena down to the mat hard.

Edge goes for the cover but Sheamus breaks it up inexplicably. Sheamus and Edge continue to team up on the outside of the ring, sending Barrett crashing into a ringside barricade. Sheamus turns to Orton, rolling him back into the ring and pounding away at him. Sheamus tries for a cover but he only gets a two count. Sheamus and Edge both kick away at Orton before Sheamus rolls to the outside and buries his elbow in Orton’s throat. Sheamus goes for another cover on Orton, but it’s still not enough to hold him down.

Sheamus and Edge pound on Orton in the corner before they both whip him across the ring. Sheamus sends Edge into Orton with an Irish whip, but Orton comes right back, attacking both Edge and Orton. Sheamus is able to cut Orton off with a high clothesline that takes him down to the mat. Barrett tries to get back into the match, but he’s sent off the apron with a big shoulder block. Edge and Sheamus turn their attention to each other, and Edge goes for a spear, but Sheamus sidesteps it before hitting a urunage backbreaker.

Sheamus stalks Edge and goes for the bicycle kick, but Edge ducks it and hits a spear. Out of nowhere Cena is in the ring going for an AA on Orton but Orton fights out and gets his with a spear from Edge. Cena hits an AA on Edge and pins him for the three count.

Edge has been eliminated.

We go backstage to Jillian Hall spinning the Roulette wheel. Edge is with her. He breaks out into song and dance with her. The wheel continues to spin as Cole wonders what match Edge will get. We go to commercial without knowing.

Body Slam Challenge: Edge vs. Evan Bourne

Back from the break and out comes Edge for the next match. Out comes Evan Bourne and it’s announced this will be a Body Slam Challenge. They go at it and Bourne tries for a slam early. More back and forth. Edge struggles for a slam but Bourne uses the ropes to block it. Bourne kicks Edge in the chin hard and he hits the mat. Bourne goes for a slam but Edge counters and hits the inverted DDT.

Edge picks Bourne up and body slams him to get the easy win.

Winner: Edge

- After the match, Bourne gets to his feet but Edge is gearing up for a spear. Bourne turns around and Edge lays him out. Edge goes to celebrate but the e-mail alert goes off in the arena. Cole announces that Edge must perform in a second Body Slam Challenge now. Out comes his opponent… Mark Henry.

Body Slam Challenge: Edge vs. Mark Henry

Mark Henry comes down to the ring smiling and Edge doesn’t look too happy. Henry charges and Edge ducks. Henry shoves Edge across the ring. Henry goes for a splash int he corner but Edge moves. Edge goes for a bodyslam and Henry falls on top of him. Henry scoops Edge up and slams him for the win.

Winner: Mark Henry

Edge is backstage. Zack Ryder walks in and asks what the GM’s problem is with Edge. Ryder says Edge should steal the GM’s girlfriend. Edge doesn’t even know who the guy is. Edge says when he wins the WWE Title, he’s going MIA with the belt. Sheamus walks in and says it’s his Championship. Some comedy here from Ryder before he walks off. Sheamus tells Edge to pay attention to what he does to John Morrison and walks off.

Tables Match: Randy Orton vs. John Cena

Wade Barrett and Nexus run down but get beat up by Orton and Cena. Edge and Chris Jericho run down and attack Orton. Orton fights back and counters a Codebreaker. He side steps a spear from Edge and Edge goes through the table in the corner with Jericho. Sheamus runs down and lays out Orton. Sheamus kicks Cena from the apron to the floor and goes out after him. Cena slams Sheamus on the floor with the Attitude Adjustment. Orton gets to his feet as Cena is entering the ring. Orton goes for the DDT but Cena counters. Cena goes for the Attitude Adjustment through the table but Orton impressively counters it with an RKO through the table for the win.

Winner: Randy Orton

- After the match, everyone is laid out at ringside and in the ring through tables as Orton’s music plays and he poses for the crowd. RAW goes off the air with Orton on the turnbuckles.

Recent Canadian Houseshow Results

Toronto, Ontario, Canada – 9/10/10

Edge & Chris Jericho def. Wade Barrett & Michael Tarver.
Super fun match. Both Edge and Jericho were playing 100% babyface since they’re Canadian. Edge even cut a promo before stating that these two Canadian boys were going to kick some ass. Clearly at house shows wrestlers are allowed to be a bit more loose, as Jericho was laughing it up with Charles Robinson, even when he was seriously trying to argue against the Nexus’ heel tactics. So funny. They win with a Codebreaker/Spear combo. Edge then cuts a promo about how he had his first match 19 years ago only 10 miles from here. He finishes with, “it may not even happen but, Go Leafs Go.” to a big pop.
WWE Championship: Randy Orton def. Sheamus via DQ. Orton is a machine and got a big pop. Such a star. Long match that ended with Sheamus shoving the referee after Orton had kicked out of a pump kick (I think). Sheamus went for a chair, Orton countered into an RKO. Miz runs out IMMMEDIATELY, hands in his briefacase– BOOM. RKO. Amazing. Ref calls off the match and Nexus runs in, but Orton tries fighting them off, but it’s four on one. Hart Dynasty for the save. Jericho runs in. Edge runs in. Finally they scare off all but Otunga, who takes an RKO, then a Spear. Edge likens him, Jericho and the Hart Dynasty to a new Team Canada, then sings “O Canada” in it’s entirety, which ends with Jericho hitting a Codebreaker on the final note. Really fun show. Can’t stress how much fun it looked like Jericho and Edge were having.

Hamilton, Ontario, Canada – 9/11/10

Edge, Chris Jericho & WWE tag champions Hart Dynasty (Tyson Kidd & D.H. Smith w/Natalya) beat Nexus (Wade Barret & Michael Tarver & Heath Slater & Otunga) in an elimination tag match.
Edge won after spearing Barrett. Edge cut a promo before the match about how Nexus would get beat by four badass Canadians. They played to the Canadian crowd a lot during the match. Unlike on TV, Jericho was really loose and smiling before and after the match. He was totally out of his heel character. Edge, too, was joking around with Natalya quite a bit. There were lots of “Y2J” and “spear” chants. Natalya got the crowd to chant “Canada,” as well. She also told our section that we were awesome fans.

The order of eliminations: Tyson Kidd, D.H. Smith, Tarver, Otunga, Slater, and Barrett.

After the show, Edge cut a promo about his start in WWE right here in Hamilton, and thanked his family, who were sitting ringside. He also thanked Jericho, which made it seem like Jericho is indeed leaving WWE. Jericho thanked the fans as well and called all of them his family, which got a huge pop. Edge shook hands with everyone and Justin Roberts thanked the fans to end the show. All in All, it was a great show.

Peterborough, Ontario, Canada – 9/12/10

Hart Dynasty (w/ Natalya) & Jericho & Edge def. Nexus
Nexus comes out as a unit to absolutely insane heat. Team RAW came out seperately, each to crazy pops. But before the match can start….Justin Roberts receives a message from the General Manager. Apparently the match was now going to be an elimination match, with an added stipulation that if an eliminated member of Nexus interfered in the match after being eliminated, Barrett would lose his spot in the main event of Night of Champions. The match took a while to get underway as both Jericho and Edge took to the mic. Jericho started a chant likening Slater to the Wendy’s girl, and throughout the match you could hear chants of “WENDYS!” or “I WANT A BACONATOR” coming from somewhere in the crowd. This was easily the match of the night, with Team RAW playing the “faces in peril” role quite well. One of the best spots in the match was with DH Smith holding Slater in a delayed vertical suplex with the crowd counting along. Slater was upside down for a good 40-45 seconds before Smith hit the move. That Smith kid has some freakish strength. Both Kidd and Smith were eliminated from Team RAW, but Jericho cleaned house, eliminating Slater and Otunga before tagging Edge back into the match. Edge takes care of Tarver, and then the match quickly goes into the finishing sequence (which I was lucky enough to catch on film). Edge had Barrett lined up for the spear, but it got countered into Barrett’s finisher, but before Barrett could hit it, Edge shoved him into the corner where he was met with a Codebreaker from Jericho, and as he stumbled to the center of the ring got met with a spear for the final 3 count. Edge and Jericho both take to the mics again to thank the crowd for coming out, and said how they always love coming back to Canada to perform.
